

Visitation will be Monday, August 8, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. at Earthman Funeral Home, 6700 Ferris St., Bellaire, TX, Rosary will begin at 7:00 pm.
The Funeral Mass will take place Tuesday, August 9, at 10:30 am at St Thomas More Catholic Church, 10330 Hillcroft St, Houston, TX. A reception will follow. Graveside services will be at 1:30 at Forest Park Westheimer, 12800 Westheimer Rd Houston, TX.
Margaret was born in Orange, TX and moved to Houston with her family in the late 30’s. She was a graduate of St Agnes Academy at its original location on Fannin St in Houston Texas. She was one of the founding members of her beloved Theresians Day One Houston, a longtime member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, as well as the first female president of Serra Northwest. She loved the Sisters of the Cenacle and spent a great deal of time at their retreat house. She was a devoted member of St Michael Parish, St Thomas More Parish and Christ the Good Shepherd Parish. She was a licensed Real Estate Broker and worked for Madeline O'Brien Realtors for over 40 years.
Margaret is preceded in death by her father, Guy Frances Burkart, her mother, Carrie(Caroline) Jewett Burkart; her brothers, Joseph A McMillan and Guy F Burkart Jr., and her beloved husband, Glen Edward Carter.
She is survived by her sons, Glen E Carter Jr., Chris R Carter (Charma), Tim R Carter (Jill), and her daughter Carol M Carter; her grandchildren: Ann M Carter (Carol Rodriguez), Veronica C Barnhill (Peter), John Keith Carter (Stephanie), Kent A Carter, Kimberly C Sweppenhiser (Chad), Melissa C Becker (Eric); her great-grandchildren Phillip Carter, Brice Sweppenhiser, Aaron Sweppenhiser, Mathew Philipp, Sydney Sweppenhiser, Sam Philipp, Brooke Barnhill, Jacob Barnhill and Evelyn Becker.
