Paula Lorainne Rush Kendrick, age 87, passed away Monday, September 7, 2020 in her home in Houston, TX. She was born May 17, 1933 to the late Lora Lillian (Slaten) Rush and Paul Marshall Rush in Loco, OK. She attended high school in Bethany, OK. She then married her sweetheart, Monte Lee Kendrick, and started a family soon after. Paula is survived by her children, Randy Lee Kendrick and wife Debra, Connie Lynn Kendrick, Karen Kendrick Thomas and husband Lynn, Monte Leigh Kendrick and wife Mindy. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Dennis, Tracy, Chris, Lori, Daniel, Lyndi, Kevin, Spencer and Connor, and her great grandchildren, Alexander, Nicole, Alexa, Xander, Gabrielle, Charles, Harrison, Kellan, Charles, Wyatt and Wesley, and her brother Marshall Alan Rush. She was preceded in death by her brother Lloyd Rush.
Paula spent her life in activities like singing groups, bowling leagues, playing music, and arts and crafts. She was part of several professional bands, including the Bayou Banjo Band and the Jubilee Banjo Band, playing banjo and guitar for them. She donated her time taking her friends to doctor appointments and looking after people. She went back to school in accounting, something she had always enjoyed. Her joy was her family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, Sunday, September 13, 2020 at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home, 4525 Bissonnet Street, Bellaire, TX. She will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Oklahoma City, OK.
