

Roman was born on June 5, 1950 in Kiev, Ukraine to Gregoriy and Faina Potakh. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Ilya Potakh. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Larisa Potakh; his daughters, Rita and son-in-law Orlando, Valery and son-in-law Matthew; grandchildren Lance, Milana, Emelyn, and Nolan.
Roman grew up in Kiev, Ukraine; he graduated from a technical school in 1970 with a degree in electrical engineering. He served in the Soviet Army based in Germany from 1970 to 1972 where he was a morse-code operator. Upon his return from service, he met his wife, Larisa, in 1972 and they married in May 1973. Roman, Larisa and their children, emigrated to the United States in November 1989. Roman founded four different and successful businesses with the latest being a local driving school. Roman was also an avid musician and singer and was a member of various bands both in the Ukraine and in the United States.
A cemetery chapel service for Roman will be held Sunday, July 10, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Beth Yeshurun Post Oak Cemetery, 7445 Awty School Lane, Houston, TX 77055. The link for the live stream is with the service information below.
