Sean Keith Mitchell

Sean Keith Mitchell passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 13, 2012. Sean was born in Houston on October 23, 1990 to Suzanne Humphrey and to the late Michael Sean Mitchell. He is survived by his mother Suzanne; brother, Reed Voorhies and his wife Kasi and son Nicholas; sisters, Megan Scott and husband Matthew and Tara Mitchell; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Keith Mitchell and Mrs. Ruth Humphrey McCullough and the late Mr. James B. Humphrey, Sr.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Sean attended John Paul II Catholic School, Memorial Middle and Memorial High School. In High School, Sean earned the Student Volunteer of the Year Award and enjoyed working with younger students tutoring math and the elderly in nursing homes. As a child Sean participated in Cub Scouts, Gymnastics, Violin, rock collecting and taking care of animals. He was attending Houston Community College and had an incredible intelligence. Sean was a Dukes Scholar, a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Sigma Alpha Phi: National Society of Leadership and Success, as well as numerous other collegiate Honor Societies. Sean’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His gentle smile and big heart brought so much joy to those around him. We love you Sean and know that you are in Heaven with your Dad, Rest in Peace.

Visitation will from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 17, 2012 and Funeral Service will be at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, October 18, 2012 both at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home.
