Teddy Joye Gibson

Teddy Joye (Moore) Hicks Gibson, age 80, passed away February 5, 2014. She was born on October 20, 1933 to James E. Moore and Dolores Faye (Collins) Moore. Joye was trained as a nurse but worked as a secretary and held jobs with the railroad and at several engineering firms. She was a longtime member of St. Jude Shrine in Stafford. Her passions included traveling, reading, watching football and meeting new people. Joye lived most of her life in Houston, TX but was fortunate to live in many parts of the country where she met countless people who would become life-long friends. Joye was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved uncle, Alonso Everett Cotton and loving aunt, Georgia Cotton Cooper; her sister, June Moore and nephew Raymond Moore. She is survived by her son, Stephen Hicks and his wife Mary; grandchildren, Stephanie Hicks and Brian Hicks; brother, George Moore; numerous cousins and many wonderful friends.

Friends are invited to visitation with the family Friday, February 14, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 15, 2014. Both the visitation and Mass will be held at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 17, 2014 at Valliant Cemetery in Valliant, Oklahoma.
