Victor Anthony Ferruggia went to be with our Lord on April 14, 2025 after a long history of heart disease. He was born in Houston, Texas on March 31, 1948 to Bennie Marie and Dominic Ferruggia who both predeceased him. He is survived by his sister Antoinette Trejo and husband Roger, niece Mellissa Miller and husband Trae, nephew Nicholas Trejo and wife Emma, great niece Madison Miller and great nephews Dominic and Luca Trejo.
He attended Sacred Heart Elementary, St. Thomas High school and the University of Houston. In 1971 he was drafted into the army and served two years in the 82nd Airborne Division where he was stationed as a paratrooper in Ft. Bragg, N.C. He was honorably discharged in 1973. While in the army he received the National Defense Service metal, Parachute Badge, Sharpshooter (M-16) Badge and Expert Badge (M60; M79). After his discharge he worked at various jobs including sales and delivery for grocery stores.
He cared for my mother in her later years. After her death Victor took to the open road and traveled across the USA. He also loved to gamble making numerous trips to Las Vegas and Louisiana.
He loved the beach and in his younger days scuba diving. He was also an excellent cook making some delicious pasta dishes. He was funny, witty and a trivia expert.
He moved to Pearland about 10 yrs. ago and it was the best move of his life. He had the kindest and most helpful neighbors anyone could ask for. He also lived close to his best friend Jack. It was only fitting that Jack found Victor who had passed in his sleep. And last but not least he was fond of our children Melissa and Nicholas and our grandchildren Madison, Dominic and Luca. He had pictures of them displayed all over the house and he shard stories about them with his friends and neighbors.
Victor is at peace now and he is in heaven with my parents and grandparents. He will be sorely missed by all of us. Donations can be made to St. Jude which was Victor’s favorite charity.
