Born March 30, 1937 to Philip and Nancy Watz in Freeport, IL.
She was a graduate of Freeport High School class of 1955 and attended Carthage College.
Barb worked as a medical technologist for Quest Diagnostics for over 50 years. She was a devoted attendee of Our Lords Lutheran Church and a proud companion to her many beloved dogs.
She was preceded in death by loving parents Philip and Nancy; brothers, John (Sharon) Watz, Donald Watz, Wayne Watz and sister, Jean Curtis; brother-in-law, Steve Curtis and nephew, Jeffery Watz.
Barb is survived by her sisters-in-law, Barbara Watz and Sandy Olson; nephews, Philip (Denise) Watz, Randy (Judy) Watz and Jayson Watz; and nieces, Jenny (John) Reese, and Besty Watz; along with many great-nieces and nephews and her beloved companion dog, BeaBea.
A very heartfelt thank you to her neighbors Jasmine and Jeff for all their assistance in the last weeks and many years.
A visitation for Barb will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 11:00 A.M.- 12:00 P.M. at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home in Belleville, IL.
A funeral service will follow the visitation, at 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Final interment will be at Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville, IL.
