Debra Jean Morber-Biel, 68, of Belleville, Illinois passed away on Saturday, October 1st, 2022 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Illinois. She was born on August 4th, 1954 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in St. Clair County, Illinois to James and Carol Fiedler.
Debbie married Harry Biel on June 2nd, 2018. Debbie had a Master’s degree in special education. Before retirement, she worked at the Illinois Center for Autism in Fairview Heights and the William M. BeDell Achievement & Resource Center in Wood River. She was also the head of the PTO at Westhaven School in Belleville and volunteered at their library. Debbie enjoyed traveling the country with her husband, lounging at the beach and spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered for her unmistakable laugh, her fun-loving nature and of course, her clumsiness. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Debbie was preceded in death by her first husband, Dennis Morber; parents, James and Carol (nee Gladson) Fiedler; siblings, Thomas Fiedler, Jennifer Crowe and Charles Fiedler.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Harry Biel; two sons, Brian and Billy Morber; brother, Robert (Kim) Fiedler; stepmother, Nolly Fiedler-Novatski; brother-in-law, Mike Crowe; grandchildren, Dylan, Hailie and Evan; plus several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Debbie from Noon until 4 PM on Friday the 21st of October at TR's Place 4901 Concordia Church Rd, Belleville, IL 62226. There will be an open mike for anyone who would like to say something, so bring your best stories of Debbie. In lieu of flowers a side dish or desert would be appreciated but not required. Come as you are.
