

Elmer W. Dintelmann, 93, of Millstadt, Illinois, born on February 18, 1924 in Harrisonville, Illinois, passed away on May 31, 2017 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri with his family by his side.
Mr. Dintelmann started his career at John Fabick Tractor Company as a mechanic and retired as a service training manager after 40 years. He was a member of Moose Lodge 815 in Mascoutah, Illinois for more than 50 years. He was also a long time member of the Masonic Lodge and an avid gardener and fan of St. Louis Cardinals Baseball, but his greatest moments were those spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. Elmer will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Leona, nee Weber, Dintelmann; his first wife, Margaret, nee Holle, Dintelmann; one great-granddaughter, Alexus Paige; and one son-in-law, Herman C. Hanradt.
Surviving to cherish his memory is his wife, Carol, nee Otte, Dintelmann; his four daughters, Margie (Thomas Ostendorf) Burns, Millie (John) Tylka, Elaine Hanradt and Vera (John Walsh) Kanak; his three step-children, Robert (Linda) Been, Janice (Don) Brakefield and Steve Been; eight grandchildren, Laurie (Fred) Turner, Larry (Amy Brooksher) Hensley, Daryl (Nancy Willis) Burns, Jr., Ken (Kelli) Hensley, Kevin Burns, Brad (Patti Scott) Hensley, Thomas (Elizabeth) Kanak and Angela Kanak; four step-grandchildren, Joanie Been, Rodney (Kristi) Dailey, Eric (Ana) Dailey and Steve Been; thirteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; one brother, Eugene Dintelmann; three sisters, Lucille Brandt, Gladys (LaVern) Kinzinger and Laverne Bischoff; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Friends may visit from 4-8 p.m., Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois with a Moose Pilgrim Ritual at 6:00 p.m. A second visitation will take place Monday, June 5, 2017 from 10-11 a.m. at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois. Funeral services to follow in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Illinois.
