He was born May 12, 1950 in St. Louis, MO a son of Hattie Carroll and Belle Zora (nee Dees) Hight. He married Beverly Hackstadt. She preceded him in death on October 17, 2013.
He is also preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are his brother, Jerry (Karen) Hight of Freeburg; sisters, Carolyn “Carol” Mundy (Gary) Schremp of Waterloo; Janis Hurley Knollman of Dupo; brothers-in-law, Lyle (Donna) Hackstadt and Lloyd (Donna) Hackstadt both of Nashville; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mr. Hight was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He retired after 20 years of service. After his retirement from the service, he was employed by the United States Postal Service as a Supervisor.
He had a love for vintage cars, especially Thunderbirds.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home in Belleville. Burial will be in St. John United Church of Christ Cemetery in Plum Hill. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the funeral home.
