Joyce loved dancing. She choreographed both line dances and dances for couples. She touched thousands of lives through her dance lessons and ability to bring smiles to the faces of all ages. She founded the Slappers Dance Club in 1986, where she made life-long friends.
In addition to the dancing, she loved coordinating road trips and social events for the club. She also made many friends, some who became the same as family, while working for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES).
Before moving to Illinois, Joyce had lived in both Florida and Germany while traveling with her husband Bill, and children Peggy and Tim, at Air Force duty stations. This was yet another time where Joyce’s magnetic personality resulted in friendships around the world.
Born in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, Joyce graduated from Sharon Hill High School, class of 1971. She attended Goldey-Beacom College, and loved performing in stage productions.
She is survived by her husband, Bill, and her children, Peggy and Tim, and her grandchildren Britney and Dexter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Peggy Eggers, and her sister Doreen Meier.
The family has entrusted Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral home in Belleville with cremation arrangements.
Memorial donations in Joyce’s name may be made to the Belleville Humane Society.
