Lawrence "Larry" Dale Loiseau

Lawrence Dale “Larry” Loiseau, 96, of Millstadt, IL passed away on March 16, 2026 at Cedarhurst Senior Living in Bethalto, IL. He was born on September 1, 1929 in East St. Louis to the late Henry John Loiseau and Virginia Isabel Tebby. On August 31, 1957, he married the former Bonnie Diane Austin. They celebrated their 51st anniversary shortly before her death on Sep. 16, 2008.

Larry attended the LePere School and was a member of Belleville Township High School class of 1947. He joined the US Navy in 1948 and was a Korean War veteran. After departing from the Navy in 1955, he spent the next 32 years as a civil service aircraft mechanic at Scott Air Force Base until his retirement in 1987. He was an avid aircraft enthusiast, a licensed pilot for over 70 years, the last surviving founding member of Chapter 64 of the Experimental Aircraft Association, and a longtime member of the Gateway Arch Ultralight Association. He was a member of the American Legion for 70 years and was a past president of the Boots & Slippers square dance club. He was a member and elder of Crossroads Trinity Church in East Carondelet, IL.

Larry is survived by his children, Joyce (Joe) Stumph of Dorsey, IL and Dale (Dana) Loiseau of Millstadt, IL; grandsons, Chad Stumph of Sioux Falls, SD, and Shawn (Lexus) Stumph of Taylorville, IL; great-grandson, Orin, of Taylorville, IL; a sister, Diane (Daniel) Freund of La Palma, CA; sister-in-law, Trula (Charles) Alderman of Dublin, VA; and several nieces.

A visitation for Larry will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 2:00 P.M.- 5:00 P.M. at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

An additional time of visitation will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026 for an hour prior to the funeral, from 10:00 A.M.- 11:00 A.M. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Jacob Skelton of Bethalto Church of God, will officiate.

Final interment will be held at Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville, IL.
