Luther M. Pattillo

Luther married his high school sweetheart, Deborah Kay Scott on Nov. 5, 1969 and together they have parented six beautiful children. They are Lisa, Mark, Matthew, Angela, Deanna, and Daniel (deceased). He had nine grandchildren whom he loved with all his heart, and one granddaughter soon to arrive in Feb.

He had the divine ability to love unconditionally and people readily felt his love and acceptance.

He worked long hours, often multiple jobs providing and serving his family. He served in many capacities for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and honored his country by serving in the Air Force for 11 years.

He loved music, joking, sports, collecting sports memorabilia, and if it included a hearty meal "out" he considered that a really good day.

He brightened the day for everyone he ran into at the store, doctors, or on the street with humor and good cheer.

Luther was loved by many and will be missed greatly.

Luther was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Scott Pattillo; and his father, Frank E. Pattillo.

He is survived by his loving wife Deborah Kay, nee Scott, Pattillo whom he married on Nov. 5, 1969; two sons, Mark Andrew Pattillo of Belleville and Matthew Frank (Sheri) Pattillo of New Jersey; three daughters, Lisa Marie (Dan) Fletcher of Highland, IL, Angela Renee Sato Pattillo of O’Fallon, IL, and Deanna Lynn (Matt) Dawe of Belleville; his mother Betty S. Pattillo of Brighton, IL; 9 grandchildren, Paul, Jared, Carli, and Bethany Fletcher, Katerri Pattillo, Makayla Pattillo, Aaralyn and Marcus Ray, and Mina Rosenheim-Dawe; a brother, Michael (Jody) Pattillo; and two sisters, Teri McAfee and Miki (Brian) Seaborne.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 9827 Bunkum Road, Fairview Heights, IL 62208.

Funeral: Services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014 at the church with Bishop Christopher Smith officiating.

Interment will follow in Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville
