

With grace, Margie was a blessing to many. As a teacher for decades, Margie touched many young lives. She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Belleville where she served as an Elder and was past president of Trustees. She sang in the choir, played Handbells, played piano for many programs and was an interim organist. As a member and past president of Presbyterian Women, she helped start two Circle groups. She was a member of the Merry Mates church group. She was a member and past president of P.E.O., Chapter KC.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas & Margaret “Peg”, nee, Osterhout, Smith; her brothers, Thomas Smith and Karl Smith.
She is survived by her loving husband, Loren T. Elliott; daughter, Joy (Colin) Baltz; son, Jay (Mary) Elliott; sister, Susan (Shep) Spear; sisters-in-law, Betsy Smith, and Janet (Jimmy) Garth; grandchildren, Conor Baltz, Maggie Baltz, and Bobby Elliott.
Memorials in Margie’s name may be made to the First United Presbyterian Church Music Fund or the Church Pre-School Fund.

Visitation: Friends may call on Friday, January 15, 2016 from 4pm-8pm at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, 3412 Frank Scott Parkway West, Belleville, IL 62223.
On Saturday, January 16, 2016 there will be a Visitation from 10am-11am, and a Memorial Service at 11am at First United Presbyterian Church, 1303 Royal Heights Rd, Belleville, IL 62223
Interment will be held in Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL.
