Adam was a beloved Son, Brother and Friend, who brought joy and laughter to many around him. A memorial service will be held on May 2nd at 1:00pm at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Bellevue. We welcome all who knew Adam to join us in celebrating his life.
Adam Kubicki, son of Mira and Zbigniew, was born in Warsaw Poland on May 30, 1979. In 1986 he immigrated from Poland with his parents, leaving behind familiar streets and faces for an uncertain future. Their first stop was Greece, where they stayed briefly, before making their way to California. Though the golden coast offered a warm welcome, it was the PNW that he would eventually call home. He moved to Seattle with his mother, Mira, in 1991. There he made lifelong friendships, had unforgettable experiences and made memories that he cherished and held close to his heart.
Adam never lost his close connection with his Polish heritage. He often returned to Poland to visit his extended family and embraced the culture. Adam spoke and interpreted the language with pride, keeping his roots alive in his heart.
In 1996 Adam gained a loving stepfather Robert Byrski, who he proudly called Dad. Their relationship grew stronger through the years. Reinforcing the importance of family and home in his life.
Adam's greatest joy in life arrived in 1997, when his sister Amanda was born, transforming Adam into a devoted brother affectionately known as "Addy." He took on the role of protector with pride. Together they learned that a sibling's love is one of life’s most complicated, beautiful and unbreakable bonds.
Adam was a proud graduate of the University of Washington; he earned his degree in Psychology in 2002. Adam worked tirelessly in various fields, taking on multiple jobs to pay off college loans while always prioritizing the well-being of others and serving his community.
Adam’s passions included art, riding motorcycles, driving fast, snowboarding, chess, listening to music and activism. Adam's level of interest and curiosity was what made him stand out. He could pick a song for any situation, talk and relate to any person.
Adam always put family first. He was a devoted and loving son. From his mother Mira he learned unwavering strength and love, resilience in the face of hardship. His Grandmother Halina taught him the value of tradition and the beauty of simplicity. From his Sister Amanda he learned unconditional support and the value of having someone who understands you in a way no one else can.
Adam's life is defined by his ultimate devotion to his Mother, friendships he forged and the lives he changed. He showed us that life was never meant to be controlled but rather to be fully experienced. With Adam the world felt a little softer, kinder, and brighter. Though his voice is now silent his goodness lives on in the lives he touched, in the laughter he inspired, the comfort and advice he gave, and the love he so freely shared.
