Harold Hansen

6 May, 192811 June, 2020

Harold was born in Kent Washington in 1928 to Einar and Kristine Hansen. His parents immigrated to the US from Denmark in the early 1900’s. Harold and his four siblings are first generation American born. He grew up on the farm in Kent and eventually graduated from Kent High School. He was a popular young man, amazing athlete, football and basketball star, and always had the “sweet ride”.

Post high school, he joined the army and was stationed at Fort Gordon in Augusta Georgia. He achieved Sergeant status. There his first daughter Sande, his Georgia Peach, was born.

After the military, he relocated to Seattle where he met his wife of 58 years, Carol. Harold and Carol settled in Bellevue, WA where they raised their 2 daughters, Debbie and Shari. Throughout this time, Hans followed his family roots and was a milkman for 42 years, Westview Dairy, Vitamilk and then Smith Brothers Dairy, owning his own successful business until he retired. Known and loved by so many families in his own community, and the kids of the past that are now in their 50’s are reaching out and saying “that was my milkman! And I loved him!” Sentiments that we, the family, so appreciate!

We all remember his favorite spots – The Jade East, The Portside, The Bavarian Gardens (good lord) ,The Sparks family home at the end of his Tuesday route and anywhere else that poured a nice beverage other than milk!

Harold’s favorite past times were fishing, hunting, clamming, being outdoors, and the Seahawks! He was a proud member of the Danish Brotherhood for over 65 years! But above all – he loved being with friends and family, laughing and most of all doing his best to bring a smile to everyone he came in contact with. He is one of the last of the great generation.

Rest in Peace Partner, with gratitude for your great spirit and love, we will see you on the other side.

A note from Harold “Hans” “Triple HHH” - Raise your glass!! Skoal!!
