Helen Ross

Helen grew up in Normal, Illinois .She graduated from University high school in1951. After high school she attended Denison University from 1951 to 1953, transferring then to the University of Illinois in Champaign Illinois where she received a degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences in 1955.Helen married Alan Ross in 1956 in Bloomington, Illinois. In 1958 they moved to the Seattle, Washington area, then to the Boston, Massachusetts area in 1962, returning to the Northwest in 1966. They were happily married for 58 years.

Starting at a young age she developed a never ending love of all things involving horses. When showing horses in her younger years she won many ribbons and trophies attesting to her horsemanship. Helen was an active member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority alumni and the Bellevue First Congregational Church. The past 9 years Helen pursued rehab from earlier strokes by attending an exercise class for handicapped adults at the Bellevue Highland Park and Community Center. There, she made many new friends with other participants and the staff.

Helen was preceded in death by her son, Donald Alan Ross

Helen is survived by her spouse Alan of Bellevue, Washington; her Daughter Lynette Charlton of Goshen Ohio; Grandson Spencer Charlton, and Daughter in Law Stacy Dalrymple of Clearview, Washington

A memorial service will be held at the Bellevue First Congregational Church, 752 108th St. NE, Bellevue, Washington at 1:30 PM, on Saturday, May 30th.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to an organization of your choice.
