James Carlyle Pond passed away on October 24 2017 in Des Moines Washington at the age of 93. He was born on June 8, 1924 in Shanghai, China to Harold Covington Pond and Margret McKay (Carlyle) Pond. He grew up in Scarsdale NY. He served in the US Navy on Tinian, M.I. during WWII achieving the rank of Ensign. He married Georgia Elizabeth Favour at Ft. McKinley, Manilla, P.I. on January 24, 1947. He graduated from MIT in Cambridge MA. With a B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering on February 4, 1948. He was employed by the Boeing Aircraft Company for 41 years retiring 1990. He is survived by his Sister Ann Stowers of Knoxville, TN, sons Robert Pond of Des Moines, WA and Thomas Pond (Sharon) of Northglenn, CO, four grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Daughter in law Colette (Sherwood) Pond, Brother John Allan Pond and son James H. Pond. He will be laid to rest at Sunset Hills Memorial Park, Bellevue WA near his late wife and son.
