

Joan and her twin sister Jane (Ross) were born on March 22,1926 in Worcester, Massachusetts to Francis Rogers and Maude (Butler) Rogers. Joan was a longtime resident of the Seattle area. She graduated from Forest Ridge School of the Sacred Heart in 1944, the University of Washington in 1948, and with her husband and family, ultimately settled in Bellevue. Her loving husband Don preceded her in death in 1982.
Throughout her life, Joan was an active member of her church, a fierce advocate for individuals with special needs, and a keen bridge player. Alongside raising her seven children, she was active in many organizations including Catholic Childhood and Children of Mary. Throughout her life, having her family near was of utmost importance and she was the heart of many joyful gatherings.
Besides Don, she is preceded in death by her twin Jane, son Peter, and grandsons Drew MacLean III and Jimmy Robertson. She is survived by her children Jane (Dave) Lindell, Maggie (Tom) George, Mimi Robertson, Drew (Sherine) MacLean, Jim MacLean, and Sally Sue (Dave) McDonald. Additionally, she is celebrated by fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Her extended family includes siblings Sally Sue Coleman and Pat (Jane) Rogers, and many nephews and nieces.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bellevue on September 30,2024 at 10:30AM with a reception to follow. (9460 NE 14th St., Clyde Hill Washington 98004)
