Hello Quinn Family, 

This is Rita Gale writing from Vail Colorado about my special memories of JP. 

I met Tees as a Freshman at Marycliff and  all of you soon after. But JP really became a fond friend when he invited me to ski with him in 1974 after I graduated from WSU.  

So there we were,unlikely ski buddies, accompanied by Pat, learning to navigate Crystal better every Monday that season. 

We listened to rock n roll, fell down the hill together and laughed excessively. One of JP's spectacular crashes prompted me to dub him " J Claude Quinn " .  

I will never forget those trips and JP's good humor and encouragement. I live in a ski town, still adore it and keep J Claude on my shoulder as I enjoy the snow. 

Thanks for sharing your Dad with me, it was truly an honor.

To all of the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren:

God bless you for all that you have done to make Uncle J.P.'s last years as pleasant as possible.  He was such a Holy man.  His Catholic faith was very important to him.  When Dan and I showed up at Aunt Jane's funeral in 2009 we realized that we had left home without our rosaries.  Uncle J.P. pulled 2 rosaries out of his pocket for us. They weren't loaned to us, he made sure that we understood that they were for us to keep. Now I never leave the house without a rosary. The next day Dan and I drove Kathy and Uncle J.P. to the airport in Cleveland.  What a pleasant ride that was. The time passed so fast. It seemed like 15 minutes instead of 2 hours. What a blessing that "quality time" was to us.
You have earned your place in heaven. We love and miss you.

We first met Jay and Sue in the fall of 1973. We moved from Virginia to Bellevue and they had relocated from Spokane. We happened to move across the street from each other. We became instant friends and neighbors. We attended Sea Hawk games together for 26 years. Jay and I would yell and scream for the Seahawks and Sue would be  sitting next to him quietly reading a book. Jay would always give the Sea Gals an extra round of applause when they performed and Sue would just look at him and smile. Jay and Sue were more then friends to us in the early days because they helped a young family cope with being 3000 miles from home. We attended many events with them over the years such as the 1975 World Fair in Spokane, ski trips to Oregon, musicals and plays in Seattle and many dinners on New Years. Bettie and I feel very fortunate to have met Jay and Sue. We will miss our visits with Jay. We know he is with Sue again. We love you Jay and Sue.

Dear Kathy and all of Uncle JP and Aunt Sue's children - our cousins.  I was so saddened to hear about Uncle JP's passing.  What a wonderful person he was.  He brought tears of joy to my Mom Ruth Ann whenever he phoned or came to visit and my father Bob could not say enough about him, he was his idol. They so enjoyed their visits to Seattle too.   Thank you for sharing him with us these past years. What a wonderful life he led, he lived every year to it's fullest and took a lot of people along for the ride.  He is now in heaven with Aunt Sue, his wonderful family, and I am so happy that he is with Mom and Dad.  What a reunion they are having.  I bet he and Dad have figured out who is going to be the victor in the Republican primary!!  They will send us a sign.  Our thoughts,  prayers, and hugs are with you and your families at this time.
