Born in Salt Lake City Utah, Joy lived and traveled all over the world throughout her lifetime. Her zeal for life and passion for experience was a theme that prevailed in all she did. A woman of strong will and spirit, Joy knew what it meant to live life to the fullest, and in that belief she put all her skills, talents and abilities. Her many successes in life are proof of that to this day. Her thirst for education and progress led her to graduate an English major from the University of Utah. Her inspiration and creativity was showcased through her window displays at the Bon Marche and Fredrick & Nelson, and her entrepreneurial spirit moved her into a position as a regional manager for Avon in Santa Barbara, CA. where she lived for many years. Joy was a pioneer and she invested that spirit, courage and devotion into raising and supporting four beautiful daughters. Joy truly gave of herself all that was required, and then so much more. She gifted not only of her heart and energy, but of the fruits of her labor, time and time again. Be it charities, the homeless, or family Joy gave freely and tirelessly to anyone in need. Joy Maloney is survived by her husband of 51 years, Thomas Patrick Maloney, her four daughters; Jan Louise Cunningham, Derry Ann Aker, Lori Lu Miller and Shawn Marie Czeczinski. Her lineage extends to 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was truly loved in life and will be deeply missed. 1 CORINTHIANS 13
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,
but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes,
and always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.
But the greatest of these is love.
