Marcia Moriarty Gray

Marcia Moriarty Gray, 63, a 23-year resident of Norfolk, Virginia and formerly of Bellevue and Seattle, Washington, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on August 18th 2025. Born on June 11, 1963 in Aberdeen, Washington to Timothy and Patricia Moriarty. Marcia graduated from Bishop Blanchet High School, Seattle, WA, class of 1980. She attended the University of Washington where she joined the Gamma Phi Beta sorority. In 1980 she met Robert P. Gray, a ROTC midshipman who, in 1987, became her loving husband. They spent many years travelling the world in service of the United States. She was first and foremost a Mother to a loving son, a proud Navy wife, and built a career as a professional personal trainer and yoga instructor. She will be remembered for her enthusiastic support of anyone seeking to improve themselves and for her compassion for those struggling with challenges in their lives. And tennis, she loved playing and watching tennis!

Marcia is survived by her husband and her beloved son, Kyle R. Gray (Sarah)of Greene, ME. She adored her grandchildren, Eleanor and Theodore Gray. She is also survived by her Mother, Patricia Moriarty of Seattle, WA, sisters Kimberly Donaldson (John) of Seattle, Kendall Hutter of Surprise, AZ, Molly Moriarty of Minneapolis, MN, and her brother Timothy Moriarty (Marianne) of Bellevue. Marcia was preceded in death by her father, Timothy Edward Moriarty and her sister, Megan Elizabeth Moriarty.

A funeral mass will be held on September 12, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Louise Catholic Church, 141 156th Ave. SE, Bellevue, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Eating Disorders Association in Marcia’s memory.
