She was born on August 11, 1948, in Hong Kong, where she was raised before emigrating to the United States in 1972 to build a new life.
Marina was known for her caring and selfless nature, her thoughtfulness, generosity, and quiet elegance. She had a remarkable ability to make those around her feel cared for, welcomed, and never alone.
In November 1972, she married her husband, Stephen Wong, in Hong Kong. Together, they began their life in the United States, eventually settling in Bellevue, Washington, where they raised their family and built a home centered on love, generosity, and connection. Their partnership spanned 54 years and was grounded in deep commitment and devotion.
She built a successful career in the financial services industry, ultimately serving as a Vice President at Merrill Lynch Financial Services before retiring in 2009. She approached her work with dedication and integrity, earning the respect of colleagues and friends alike.
Outside of her career, Marina found joy in creativity and connection. She loved to paint and draw, and she enjoyed singing. She appreciated life’s simple pleasures, including pizza and her beloved soy lattes from Starbucks—favorites she especially enjoyed when she was able, despite the dietary limitations she managed with quiet strength. She also maintained a lifelong and very firm dislike of onions.
Her home was a place of warmth, generosity, and abundance. Marina especially loved celebrating holidays, hosting family gatherings, preparing meals with care, and ensuring no one ever left hungry. More often than not, guests went home not only with full hearts, but with leftovers in hand.
Above all, Marina cherished her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Stephen Wong; her son, Josh Wong, and daughter-in-law, Tonia; her daughter, Stephanie Doull, and son-in-law, Sean; her beloved grandchildren, Addison Wong, Josie Wong, Noah Doull, and Grace Doull; and her siblings, Steven Sin, Stewart Shin, Salomy Sin, and Sunny Sin. She found deep joy in spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren, and caring for them when they were young. These were moments that meant the world to her and to them.
A service to celebrate Marina’s life will be held at Sunset Hills Memorial Park on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northwest Kidney Centers in her memory: https://www.nwkidney.org/how-to-help/donate-online/
