Mark and Sache Lee

Mark Lee passed away at age 89 and Sache Lee passed away at age 85. They both left this world and entered into the peace of Jesus Christ, their Lord and Savior, together, within hours of each other. It was by God's grace neither of them was left behind because they had lived their lives so intertwined for so long.

Mark met Sache, who was the sister of one of his college classmates, while she was still in high school. They were married in December 1957. Mark came to the Seattle area for graduate studies and after graduating, Sache and their three children immigrated to the United States in 1964, and they had a fourth child soon afterwards.

Mark is remembered as a man of strong faith with a deep desire to share God’s love with other Taiwanese people. He started and served in Chinese and Taiwanese churches and went on mission trips to Taiwan after retirement. His love language was providing. He faithfully provided for his family especially through hard economic times, cared for Sache after her serious fall, and helped numerous relatives immigrate to the U.S. from Taiwan, sometimes making the home feel more like a hotel!

Sache is remembered for her sacrificial love that she gave not only to her husband and children, but to all who she came in contact with. Her love language was food! She made delicious meals even when she had a low budget to work from, made dishes for gatherings and church events, and would always ask, “Have you eaten, yet?”, and if she wasn’t making food, she was taking you to one of her favorite restaurants for a meal!

They are survived by their children Susan (Leland) Teng, Carol (David) McFarland, Charles (Ying Chen) Lee, Frank (Peggy O’Neill) Lee, 10 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
