

She was born on May 9, 1933, in Hae Ju, Korea, to Jun Sup and Young Sun Lim. She was the second of six children. Her father was an internist and her mother was a business woman.
Mrs. Song received her bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Ewha Womans University in Seoul, Korea, in 1956 and immigrated to the United States after surviving the Korean War where she earned the equivalent degree at the University of Minnesota in 1963. Her business sense and knowledge allowed the family to prosper and be successful. She and her husband eventually settled in Mason City, Iowa, where she spent much of her life working as a pharmacist and raising her family. She will be remembered for always looking out for her siblings and parents both financially and spiritually. She was the main pillar of support to her family. Her dedication to her family will always be remembered. She loved traveling, socializing, and helping people. She is loved and missed by her family and everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Ki Taek Song and her two sons, Kit and Kenneth Song, and her five brothers and sisters (Chung Won, Myung Ae, Myung Ja, Chong Kil, and Chong Chun), and four grandchildren (Michael Song, Becky Song, Elena Song, and Alyssa Song).
