Paul graduated from Northeastern University earning a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. While attending college, he met his bride Barbara Ann Hallett.
He moved from the east coast to Seattle when he joined The Boeing Company in 1955.
Paul primarily worked in the Interiors Organization. He had the opportunity to work on the Supersonic Transport and the 747 Air Force One. While on the SST, Paul met Charles Lindbergh and gave him a tour of the SST project. Paul spent many years in Product Development, traveling the world promoting new interior features to airlines. He was extremely proud of his work helping to develop the 747-300 and the Stretched Upper Deck. The 747 was always a special airplane to Paul. He retired from Boeing in 1992 after 37 years.
After retirement, Paul enjoyed golfing with other Boeing retirees and being a marshal at Echo Falls. He spent many hours playing the organ, creating lively musical arrangements and performing with the P.P.P. Club. Paul volunteered at the Redmond Senior Center and served on the advisory committee. He was an advocate for Seniors and the citizens of Redmond helping to plan for the future. His proudest contribution was seeing the Redmond Loop come to fruition; Redmond’s new transportation shuttle.
Wapato Point in Lake Chelan was his favorite place to visit. After spending 36 years vacationing in his Nekquelekin Condo, he will be greatly missed!
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, his son Bradford Lester (Debbie), daughters Elizabeth Damen (Michael) and Laurie Dietz (Robert) as well as 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren! He was the cornerstone of the family and his impact on those around him will be remembered for a long time.
