Preston Joseph Wilburn, Jr., 1928 - 2013, beloved father and friend, passed December 11, 2013. A retired United States Postmaster, Issaquah, Washington, a veteran who served his country for seven years in the United States Navy, serving on five aircraft carriers with two years in Korea, he was a man rarely without a smile. Greeting people with a warm handshake, and helping others was what gave him great joy.
Preston’s family has planned for a quiet family Inurnment for Monday, December 23, 2013 at Sunset Hills Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Bellevue. A larger memorial service is being planned for early 2014; the date will be announced later.
Preston leaves to mourn his passing, his former wife, Beverly J. Wilburn, six children, Michael Wilburn, Sr., Demetra E. Wilburn Finley (Randy), Parris L. Wilburn (Jacki), Bradley K. Wilburn, Shawn K. Wilburn, and Kiese L. Wilburn; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Preston will be remembered for his big smile and his willingness to serve.
