Robert Joseph Taller Sr.

Bob graduated from Queen Anne High School in 1946 and earned a Business Degree from the University of Washington in 1951.

After high school, Bob enlisted in the army in July 1946. He was stationed in Japan for 18 months as a power boat operator before being discharged at Fort Lawton in Seattle in December 1947.

In 1953 Bob married Jeanne Hanke at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Seattle. They met on a blind date and celebrated 61 years of marriage.

Bob worked at The Boeing Company for 41 years. He originally worked an as expeditor for the B-52 program before transferring to Industrial Engineering. He also served as ALCM Manufacturing Project Manager and Manufacturing Manager in Boeing Engineering and Construction Company. Bob eventually became the Director of Manufacturing for Boeing Military. His final position was as Boeing’s first Director of Ethics.

Bob was actively involved in volunteer work for the United Way and the Red Cross. He spent many years coaching youth soccer, YMCA basketball and baseball through the Pony League.

In retirement Bob and Jeanne enjoyed wintering in Lake Havasu City, AZ. They also enjoyed traveling to Alaska, Italy, Croatia, South America and New Zealand. He loved spending time with family and friends, golfing, boating, fishing and watching the Seahawks and Mariners. He was also a long time Sonic season ticket holder.

Bob was preceded in death by his father Joseph, mother Manda, wife Jeanne, and brother Joe.

Bob is survived by his three sons: Rob (Jeannie), Brian and Gary, grandson Matt (Nance), great granddaughters Marley and Blake, and his dear friend, Marilyn Mace.

Family and friends are invited to attend a service at Sunset Hills Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 1215 145th Place SE, Bellevue WA 98007 on Wednesday, June 28th at 1:00 pm. Visitation with the family will begin at noon.

Interment to follow at Sunset Hills Memorial Park and Funeral Home.
