Shirley Ross

Shirley Ross, age 89, passed away on Dec. 14, 2013. She was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. It was there she met and married Don W. Ross. Don worked for United Air Lines and they moved around the country living in San Franciso, CA.; Redwood City, CA.; Littleton, CO.; Omaha NE.; and finally settling in Bellevue in 1965. Shirley and Don had two children, Carol and Don (Skip).

Shirley's exceptional, outgoing personality was a great asset in her work at Frederick & Nelson and later S&H Drugs. She enjoyed being with people of all ages. No one was a stranger to Shirley. She especially loved children and animals. She always radiated a love of life.

Shirley was passionate about traveling. She and Don had been to various countries in Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Jamaica, and Mexico. She loved going to Hawaii and Alaska as well as New York City.

Shirley will always be remembered for her generosity, positive spirit, and her caring and loving heart. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Don W. Ross, and son, Don B. Ross. She is survived by her sister, Jean Seabert; daughter Carol Ross; and granddaughter, Cara Hallowell.

A celebration of Shirley's life will be held at Sunset Hills Funeral Home in Bellevue on Jan. 11, 2013 at 2 pm Please come and share your memories of Shirley. In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to a charity of your choice.
