Yolanda Yu-Lin Chao

Yolanda's Chinese name is 譚玉齡 (Tán Yùlíng). She was born on July 1, 1964, in Taipei. Her father, originally from Hunan, was a soldier who moved to Taiwan with the Nationalist government in 1949. She grew up in a military dependent's village, being the youngest among her two older brothers and one sister.

From a young age, Yolanda excelled in both academics and character. She graduated from Taipei Yongjian Elementary School, Practicing Junior High School, Taipei First Girls' High School, and studied Computer Science at Soochow University. In 1989, she went to the United States for further studies and obtained a master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Missouri in 1991.

In 1993, she married Mark Chao ( 趙文達 Zhào Wénda). They settled in Bellevue and have two sons, Derek and Austin. She is known to be a great mother, a devoted wife, and has a happy and harmonious family life.

Yolanda has a sunny, steady, and kind personality. She is diligent, persistent, and possesses leadership qualities. She worked in computer programming and management for 25 years and ran a Kumon Center for 10 years. She loves life, enjoys both tranquility and activity, and is a fan of Jin Yong's novels, Tang and Song poetry. She likes puzzles, enjoys solving scientific and mathematical problems, and finds pleasure in swimming, camping, skiing, and traveling, being close to nature. She excels in handicrafts, such as sewing, knitting, embroidery, and origami.

In 2001, Yolanda was baptized and became a Christian. Jesus Christ became her guiding light in life. She often says, "Knowing the Lord is the best choice I've made in my life." She loves reading the Bible, passionately engages in serving others, and treats people generously. Her favorite scripture is Nehemiah 8:10: "Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength."

Yolanda中文名叫譚玉齡。1964年7月1日出生於台北。父親是軍人，原籍湖南，1949年隨國民政府遷居台灣。她在眷村長大。上有兩個哥哥、一個姐姐，在家中排行老么。

Yolanda從小品學兼優，先後畢業於台北永建國小、實踐國中、台北一女中、東吳大學電子計算機系。1989年，赴美留學，1991年獲密蘇里大學電腦碩士學位。

1993年，與趙文達（Mark）結婚。婚後定居Bellevue，育有兩子，趙威（Derek）、趙毅（Austin）。她是一位好母親，好妻子，家庭幸福美滿。

她個性陽光、穩健、與人為善。她做事勤奮、堅持、有領導力。從事電腦程式及管理工作25年，經營Kumon Center 10年。她熱愛生活，能靜、能動。是金庸小說迷，唐詩、宋詞愛好者。喜歡益智遊戲，愛解科學、數學謎題。享受游泳、露營、滑雪、旅行，親近大自然。她擅長女紅，喜好拼布、編織、刺繡、摺紙。

2001年，Yolanda受洗成為基督徒。主耶穌，成為她人生道路的指引者。她常說：「認識主，是我一生最美好的選擇。」她喜愛讀經、熱衷服事、寬厚待人。她最喜歡尼希米記8:10的經文：「⋯你們不要憂愁，因為依靠耶和華而得的喜樂，是你們的力量。」
