Sue was born in Covina, California on October 12, 1960, daughter of Carl Paul and Coleen (Burleson) Clutterham. She resided her entire life in Southern California.
Sue was employed with Southern California Gas Company in the Fabrication and Repair Shop, Pico Rivera, California retiring in 2016 after 38 years of loyal service to the company. While she loved having the freedom of retirement, she confessed she missed her “work” family.
Sue was quiet and unassuming yet, bold and daring. Finding pleasure in simple things such as volunteering at her grandson’s school or attending their little league games to cheer them on. (She was Covina’s Miss Little League after all) or zip lining down MT. Washington, New Hampshire on a dare that she wouldn’t. If it was fun, she was on board. Summer camping trips to Millerton Lake and Big Sur, vacations to Vermont, Michigan and Texas to visit family for a wedding, birth of a new baby or a family reunion. You could count on her to be there to join in the celebration. There were road trips across the United States to see the Grand Tetons, Mount Rushmore and Yellowstone National Park. Sue loved being near the water and dreamed of someday living on the shoreline.
Christmas was her favorite time of year, decorating from top to bottom, even incorporating her love of Disneyland into the mix. She traveled to New York City one Christmas season just to see and feel the Christmas spirit she’d seen in movies so many times as a child.
But most of all, Sue will be forever remembered for her kind and caring soul. She was the epitome of a loving mother, grandmother and aunt. Spending time with family, in the comfort of her home was her greatest pleasure. She drew her happiness from taking care of others.
Sue is survived by Steve, her loving husband of 19 years; devoted son, Daniel Mastro and step-children, Nick Mastro and Michele Bartels all of Downey, CA.; granddaughter, Saidie Mastro and grandsons, Jeremy and Brandon Mastro; mother, Coleen (Robert) Clutterham of Florence, OR; step-mother, Helga Paul of La Quinta, CA; mother-in-law, Jenny Mastro of Paramount, CA; sister-in-law, Heather Grady Paul of Frisco, TX; brother-in-law Ken Mastro of Paramount, CA; sister-in-law’s, Mary (Thom) Holder and Carla Mastro of Norwalk, CA, nieces, Kendall (Alan) Wolff of Frisco, TX and Nichole (Ted) Hunt of Owosso, MI and Jamie (Thomas) Holder of Aurora, CO; great-nephews Tim (Alyssa) Evans of Muskegon, MI and Ted Hunt of Owosso, MI; great-nieces Bella and Leah Wolff of Frisco, TX and great-great nephew, Paxton Douglas Evans of Muskegon, MI.
