

Ann lived in Marysville, Kansas, Creston, Iowa, Superior, Nebraska, before her father, Miles, was transferred to Bentonville in 1955. She graduated from Superior High School before her and her mother finished moving the family to Bentonville. Ann was a member of the Bentonville First United Methodist Church since arriving in Bentonville, in the summer of 1955. Ann worked for Daisy Manufacturing while attending Beauty College in Springdale, AR, seeking her cosmetology license. She worked as a cosmetologist for 50 years in Bentonville. In 1961, she opened her own business, Ann’s Beauty Salon, which served the area until 2007.
Ann enjoyed being around people and moving non-stop. She started a “part-time” job at the Wal-Mart Supercenter to keep moving and to meet as many people as possible, which lasted 17 years total. Ann volunteered at the First United Methodist Church and served as an usher until 2018. Her favorite pastimes were fishing, baseball, and any Razorback sporting event.
Her survivors include her husband, George G. Porter; sons, Mark and Alison Porter of Bentonville, Scott and Jennifer Porter of Maumelle; grandchildren Austin and Kaden Porter of Bentonville, and Duffy Porter of Maumelle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Miles and Aletha J. Crevier, of Bentonville.
Ann will be laid to rest in the Baptist Ford Cemetery located in Greenland, Arkansas.
