Born in Omaha, Nebraska, Dennis lived a life defined by hard work, loyalty, and a deep love for family and life’s simple joys. He built a long and successful career in the technology field, spending twenty-five years with Hitachi, where he earned the respect of colleagues through his dedication, integrity, and strong work ethic. In his final professional chapter, Dennis brought his experience and insight to Rocket Software, continuing to do what he valued most—solving problems and contributing meaningfully to his team.
Outside of work, Dennis embraced life with passion. He found both peace and excitement in the outdoors, particularly through hunting, which he cherished for the challenge and the quiet moments it provided. Football was another great love—whether watching a game or discussing plays, his enthusiasm was unmistakable. Dennis was also a talented and enthusiastic cook, known for preparing hearty meals that brought people together and created lasting memories.
Above all, Dennis held a special place in his heart for his dogs, Brownie and Cookie, who were constant companions and a source of daily joy and comfort. His love for them reflected his gentle spirit and capacity for deep affection.
Dennis will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, caring son, and loyal brother. He is survived by his wife, Karen; his children, Coty and Konnor; his parents, James and Joy Poledna; his birth mother, Madlyn Anderson; his siblings, Troy Poledna, Harold Yost, Jeremy Yost, Allen Yost, and Christina Cook; along with many extended family members, friends, and colleagues who were fortunate to know him.
Dennis’s legacy lives on through the lives he touched, the meals he shared, the stories told in his presence, and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered always.
