Margaret Madelyn Nichols, 92, of Hiwasse, passed away Monday, October 27th in Bentonville. She was born in Hiwasse on September 15, 1922 to the late Ora and Margaret Todd Nichols. She was a 1942 graduate of Hiwasse High and one of a very few who attended Hiwasse Schools for all 12 grades. During World War II, she moved to Tulsa to work for Douglas Aircraft as a ‘Rosie the Riveter’, building aircraft supporting the war effort. She returned to the area to work at Daisy Manufacturing and Munsingwear Hosiery before retiring from Emerson Electric. She dearly enjoyed her pets, friends, family and she never met a baby she didn’t love. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, stepmother Evaline Nichols as well as two brothers, Jack Nichols and Ed Nichols. Survivors include 2 nieces, 2 nephews, numerous cousins and friends.
