Mary Ann Harris

Mary Ann Powell Harris, 71, passed away on November 9, 2022 in Bentonville, AR. She was a retired Registered Nurse with 38 years of service at the Department of Veteran Affairs where she served as an Infection Control Nurse at centers in Little Rock, AR, San Juan, Puerto Rico, St. Louis, MO, and Fayetteville, AR.

She was preceded in death by her parents James W. Powell and Gracie L. Powell of Pea Ridge, AR, and her infant grandson, Noah Harris of Little Rock, AR. Mary Ann is survived by her husband Robert E. (Bob) Harris of Bentonville, AR, sisters Dorothy Powell Putt of Ozark, MO and Shelby Powell Knapp of Rogers, AR and brothers James W. Powell, Jr. and Michael Powell both of Jupiter, FL. She is also survived by sons John P. Thessing of Lowell, AR and Robert E. (Bobby) Harris (Kimberly) of Little Rock, AR and daughters Christyn Thessing Yoast (Kevin) of Tomkins Cove, NY and Rebecca (Becky) Harris Akester (Lee) of Conway, AR. Her five living grandchildren Brynna, Natalie, Trey, Jackson and Lucas were her special angels who she loved dearly; and a new Great Granddaughter, Isla Wells-Guzman.

Mary Ann will be interred at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, AR on November 21 at 11:30am. There will be no formal ceremony and, in lieu of flowers, a contribution to her church, 1st United Methodist Church of Bentonville, AR, would be appreciated.
