On August 28, 1960 she married Robert Lee Schaefer, and they raised a family together. In 1980 she started working at Wal-Mart, retired in 2002, and returned to work there in 2015 until February of this year. She was most proud of her work in the Bakery Department. She will be remembered as a vibrant woman who loved giraffes, big red hats, and running around in her birthday suit.
She was a member of The Ridge Church in Pea Ridge. Her favorite saying was, “I am in the Lord’s hands.”
Her survivors include her children, Mary “Ann” Schaefer Jones (George) of Bentonville, Laura Lee Schaefer Keene (William) of Bella Vista; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Linda Diane Reed Brown, Deborah Ruby Fulmor, Michael Prentiss Fulmor (Barbie); and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
