Auda Lee Robertson, Jr., known as Lee Robertson. Was born on March 7, 1932 in Bixby, Oklahoma to Auda Lee Robertson and Mary Lou (Hall) Robertson. He passed away on November 12, 2020 in Oklahoma City at the age of 88. Lee was one of four children. He had one brother and two sisters. The most important decision he ever made was to accept Jesus Christ as his Savior. For that reason he is now with the LORD where he will be forever. Lee met his future wife, Doris Elwina Smith at a drive-in restaurant in south Tulsa where she was working as a carhop. They started seeing each other and were married on February 15, 1955 at a church in Tulsa. This was the second most important event of his life. They enjoyed 53 years, 8 months and 26 days (something of a record these days) of their marriage before Doris passed away on November 10, 2008 after an extended illness. Lee and Doris had two children, Steven and Scheryl and a total of three grandchildren, Matthew Robertson, Cole Harris and Callie Harris. Lee and Doris attended Metropolitan Baptist Church (now Metropolitan Bible Church) in Oklahoma City. He was also a long time member of the Gideons, a bible distribution missionary organization. Lee was sworn into the U. S. Navy on March 19, 1952(12 days after his 20th birthday) and released to inactive duty in the U. S. Naval Reserves on March 12, 1956. He became a 1st Class Petty Officer on November 16, 1956. Rising to the rank in that period of time is pretty impressive. He served as a First Aid Attendant (commonly called “corpsman”) and was assigned to a marine battalion in Korea. Lee attended the University of Oklahoma and Graduated with a PhD in pharmacology. Evidently he was a pretty intelligent man. He worked for and retired from Hyde Drug in Oklahoma City. After retirement he worked as a volunteer for Integris Baptist Hospital. He was recognized for over 6000 hours of service. Some years after Doris passed away, Lee was introduced to Samar Thelitz, who also attended Metropolitan and whose husband had passed away. After getting to know each other, something clicked and they married on March 8, 2014. He enjoyed the time he was able to spend with Samar. Lee was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Samar, his children, Steve and Scheryl, his grandchildren, Matthew, Cole and Callie and his brother and sister – in-law, Preston and Betty as well as other relatives and many friends.
