Bethany resident, Charles P. Hickok, Jr., went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, October 3, 2021. He was born September 10, 1929 in Oklahoma City to Charles P. Hickok, Sr. and Edith Pearl (Sparks) Hickok. Charley was man of strong faith and was devoted to his churches. Everyone loved Charley and loved being around him. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed being a trickster. Charley had a learning disability that very few people knew about. Once he retired from Gulf Stream, he was a motivational speaker at schools in the area. He would always stress that you can achieve anything you want as long as you put your mind to it, even with a disability. Charley was a gifted wood worker. He did everything from intricate manger scenes to building cabinets for planes (in his garage) for Downtown Air Park. His kindness and encouraging words will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maxine Hickok; sister, Alvena Stephens; 2 sons-in-law; 2 granddaughters, Mandy Fox and Deedra Gragg. He is survived by his children, Linda and Bill Gragg, Charissa Haney, and Karla and Jerry Winfrey; grandchildren, Matthew Haney, Jennifer Haney, Pam Alston, Kyle Gragg, and Brent Gragg; 12 great grandchildren; his church family and friends.
Visitation will be 5pm - 8pm Monday, October 11, 2021 at Bill Merritt Funeral Service. Services will be 2pm Tuesday at Bill Merritt Funeral Service with Pastor John Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
