James “Wirt”, left this world Sunday, September 11, 2016 to join his wife and beloved Savior. He was born on December 30, 1930, in Oklahoma City, OK. Wirt was a retired fireman who served on the OKC Fire Department for 28 years. He always had a heart for young people and was very much involved with the youth of his church. Wirt enjoyed coaching and going to various sporting events to show his support. He was often the bus driver who took them to these events as well as to camp each summer. Wirt is survived by his son, James “Jimmy” Wirt Avant, Jr. , and his daughter, Anita (Avant) Bauman; two grandsons, Evan and Garritt Avant; and two granddaughters, Kristin and Jessica Bauman.
