Linda Sue Sprowls, 80, of Oklahoma City, passed away on January 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Linda was born on May 21, 1945, in Wheeler, Texas, to Cleo and Susie Rhoades. She married the love of her life, Robert Wayne Sprowls, on August 11, 1966, and together they shared 59 years of marriage.
Linda lived a life devoted to faith, family, and service. She worked for many years as an elementary school secretary, where she was known for her kindness and the joy she brought to staff and students alike. She was a longtime member of Valleyview Church of the Nazarene in Amarillo.
She found great happiness in gospel and country music, shopping, coffee with family, phone calls with friends, and celebrating life’s special moments. She was known for her generous heart, joyful spirit, and her famous pound cake.
Linda is survived by her husband, Robert Sprowls; daughters Kimberly Burleson (Tim) of Memphis, TN, and Kari Kosanke (Jason) of Oklahoma City; and her eight grandchildren: Karson Kosanke, Keaton Burleson, Kaki Burleson, Kyler Kosanke, Konrad Kosanke, Kale Burleson, and Kinley Burleson. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Gage Burleson.
Linda will be remembered as a gracious woman who never met a stranger and whose life was filled with love.
A visitation will be held at Bill Merritt Funeral Service, located at 6201 Northwest 39th Expressway, Bethany, OK 73008, on January 18, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
The funeral service will take place at St. Stephens Presbyterian Church, 2424 NW 50th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73112, on January 19, 2026, at 2:00 pm. There will be a brief reception following in the fellowship hall.
Linda Sue Sprowls will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery, located at 13313 North Kelley, Oklahoma City.
Pallbearers for the service are Keaton Burleson, Tim Burleson, Jason Kosanke, Karson Kosanke, Konrad Kosanke, and Kyler Kosanke.
