Lorene E. Foster “Nana”, 96 wonderful years, entered the gates of Heaven on December 28, 2010. She was born August 25, 1914 in Butler, Oklahoma to Mary and Henderson Fowler. Lorene married the love of her life Leonard Foster on July 8, 1931. They worked side by side in several restaurants that they owned. They moved to Fairbanks and worked in a motel for years. But whatever Lorene was doing her husband wasn’t far behind. Her kids and grandkids were the other love of her life. She devoted her life to her family. She could be quite the jokester but when needed she could be stern. She was loved and befriended by anyone that she met. She loved playing cards of any kind, bingo, casinos, fishing and cooking for her family. Nana will be loved and missed by all of us. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Foster; parents, Mary and Henderson Fowler; two daughters, Mary Hurst and Melba Hurst; grandson, Leonard Hurst; a sister and three brothers, and one nephew. Lorene is survived by a granddaughter, Tammy Jainese of OK; grandson, David Hurst of TX; grandsons, Terry & Linda Thompson, Kevin & Teena Thompson and Tim & Tammy Thompson all of AK; great grandsons, Ricky & Janine Kincer of MO and Leonard & Anna Kincer of TX; niece, Norma & Ronnie Packham; a special great niece, Susan Staton; nephews, Dale Dotson and Curtis & Lois Fowler; many great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; great nieces; and nephews and friends.
