Mary Kathleen Jones McClure was born in June of 1957 and passed away March 19, 2023 . She is survived by her son Dale McClure III of Oklahoma City, Sister Karen Tierno (Bob) of Denton, Texas, Brother Jim Jones (Jane ) of Tulsa, Ok, Sister-in-Law Deana Jones of Guthrie, Ok and niece Sara Jones, MD of St Louis, Mo
Kathleen was a private person who had a number of interests including animals, flowers , books and reading , art, genealogy, the lifestyle and gardens of Natchez, Mississippi and maintaining a pristine house and garden : As mentioned, Kathleen had a strong interest in genealogy and spent many happy hours tracing the Jones and Frank family trees – this involved not only some intense on-line research that she excelled at , and even some cemetery visits in various states. Kathleen also loved Lincoln automobiles and was proud of the fact that she founded and was the site administrator of the Lincolns Online website for some 30 years; she was believed to be one of very few women who achieved this distinction.
Kathleen deserves credit for her work ethic , as she worked at the same job with the State of Oklahoma for 30+ years, in order to provide the best possible standard of living for herself and for Dale . I don’t think we can fully appreciate how difficult this must have been for her at times , but she persevered and was successful. Fortunately, due to her diligent savings habits, she was able to retire early from her job, which meant a lot to her at the time as her job had become stressful for her and was also becoming physically difficult as well .
All of us will miss Kathleen, and especially her quick dry wit and sharp sense of humor, but we are glad she is free of the intense pain she had been dealing with for a long time, and that she can be re-united with Mom , Dad and Brother Tom. Special thanks go to all of the caregivers and Traditions hospice employees who worked so hard on her behalf, and to her devoted Sister and Sisters-in-law who were there by her side and making sure she had good food to eat during these past few months. In addition, thanks to her supportive neighbors and friends David Lee and Carolyn Anderson who viewed her exquisite gardens as a place of calm and beauty, and to her neighbor Tex Rollins , for all of their kindnesses to her throughout the years.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, the ASPCA, or Traditions Hospice in Kathleens name
