Morgan John Weber, age 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 1, 2023. He was born April 21, 1929, in Strykersville, New York to Herman and Katherine (Wilhelm) Weber. Morgan’s early years were spent on his family’s dairy farm and he attended school in a one room schoolhouse. Due to the stock market crash in 1929, they would eventually have to sell the farm and move to East Aurora. Morgan became active in Boy Scouts and Methodist Youth Fellowship. He also began doing lawn care work and would soon get a part-time job at the plant where his dad worked. He worked at that plant every day after school until midnight, and all day on Saturdays. Morgan graduated from high school in 1947 and began working full time to save enough money for college. He enrolled at Alfred State College part of The State University of New York (SUNY) in a 2-year Associate Degree Program in Electrical and Electronic Power Engineering. After receiving his degree he then accepted a position with The General Electric Company (Schenectady, NY) in the Technician Training Program where he worked on the reactor for the second nuclear submarine, the USS Seawolf. There was a large younger population working for GE so the YMCA and YWCA teamed together to sponsor a number of coed young adult groups. It was within one of these groups that Morgan met Agnes Roberts whom he married in 1953. He was drafted into the Army in 1954. His first permanent assignment was in Aberdeen, MD. where their first child, Valerie, was born. When he was honorably discharged from the Army in 1956, with the encouragement and support from Agnes, he attended Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts and received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. It was during his 4th year at NU that their second child, Deirdre “Dede”, was born. After graduating with honors in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and being accepted as a member of the National honor Society, Tau Beta Pi , and the the Electrical Engineering Honor Society, Eta Kappa Nu Morgan returned to work for GE in Syracuse, NY. He would eventually be transferred to Oklahoma City in 1964. In 1969, their son, Mark, was born. Morgan started out as a Test Engineer and progressed upward in the management chain and retired as the Manager of Reliability Testing in 1998. He was a quiet and simple man who loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Agnes.
He is survived by his children, Valerie Robinson, Dede Waters, Mark Weber and wife Dianna; grandchildren, Amanda Robinson, Ran Robinson, Chris Waters and wife Erika; and 3 great grandchildren, Everly Waters, Leighton Waters, and Nixon Waters.
