Robert Garland Neal was a devoted Christian, husband, father, and servant-hearted professional whose life was marked by faith, compassion, and service to others. He lived his life guided by his love for God, his family, and a deep desire to encourage others to be their best.
From an early age, Robert was service-oriented, imagining futures that centered on helping others, including roles in public service and ultimately finding his calling in information technology. His professional career flourished in healthcare IT, where he became a respected leader, serving as CEO and President of Oklahoma HIMSS. He was also actively involved in health information exchange initiatives, including efforts under Governor Brad Henry.
Robert took immense pride in his family. One of his greatest joys was Anna giving birth to their sons, Kyle and Ryan, and watching them grow and achieve their own milestones. His love for his wife Anna Neal and his sons was steadfast and unwavering.
He found joy and laughter in playful children, humor, and the meaningful lessons God revealed through everyday life. He enjoyed golf, bowling, skiing, boating, and fishing. But especially, golf!
Above all else, Robert loved his Father God and his family. He hoped others would remember him as kind, compassionate, loving, and service-oriented — a man who lived with Jesus as his role model and sought to uplift those around him.
A Celebration of Robert's life will be 2pm Sunday, February 8, 2026 at Bill Merritt Funeral Service. Services will be live streamed at https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/c26029869994479
