

Born on August 15, 1945, in Queens, New York, Diane was the beloved daughter of the late Harold John and Shirley Marie Peterson. She was a woman whose life was defined by love, devotion, and the deep connections she nurtured with family and friends.
Diane was a devoted and loving mother to Jennifer, Jonathan, and Jacqueline, who were the pride and joy of her life. She is also survived by her husband, Hugh Hattrick, with whom she shared 32 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and companionship. Through this union, Diane also welcomed Hugh’s children, Kathleen, Traci, and Kevin.
She was an adored sister to Janet McKenna and Virginia Farrell (Robert), and a cherished aunt to Courtney, Erin, Kelly, and Cassandra, all of whom held a special place in her heart. Diane was predeceased by her loving parents and her dear brother, Russell Peterson.
Diane dedicated many years of her professional life as an Executive Administrative Assistant with the Appellate Division of Law Guardian in Brooklyn, New York, where she was respected for her diligence, kindness, and commitment.
Outside of her career, Diane found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved crafting, playing Mahjong, reading, and spending quality time playing games with her family. She also enjoyed quiet moments playing kakuro and games on her phone. Her home was filled with love not only for her family but also for her beloved feline companions, Sammy and Grace, who brought her comfort and joy.
Diane will be remembered for her generous spirit, her unwavering devotion to those she loved, and the warmth she brought into every room. Her legacy lives in the many lives she touched.
Visitation will be held at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, 234 Broadway, Bethpage, NY, on April 17, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and again from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Martin of Tours RC Church, 220 Central Avenue, Bethpage, NY, on April 18, 2026, from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Diane’s memory to The Wounded Warrior Project and St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
