Eleanor "Ellie" Cole, of the Town of Binghamton, 87, passed away on February 18, 2016. She was predeceased by her husband, Russell Cole; parents, Carl and Elizabeth Palla; sister, Nancy Baburchak; sister-in-law, Fran Collingwood. She is survived by her son Russell and Kenna Lou Mills; grandchildren, Steven R. Cole, Jenna L. and Brian Brophy; brother-in-law, Frank Baburchak; several nieces, nephews, great nephews. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 478, American Legion Post 1645, volunteer for the American Heart Association and Lourdes hospital. Ellie was a member of the Saints John and Andrew Church for many years. The family wishes to thank the staff at the NYS Oxford Veterans Home and former caregiver, Robin Richards for their love and compassionate care. A funeral mass will be offered on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at St. John and Andrew Church, Binghamton at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm at Wm. R Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street on Monday, February 22.
