John Henry Lyon

John H. Lyon, 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 16, 2013. He was predeceased by his parents, Grove and Rosalia Lyon and a brother, Virgil Lyon. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Doris M. Lyon; daughters, Gail and Dr. James Markstein, Alisa and Thomas Pry; grandchildren, Emily Markstein, Katie Markstein and Jonathan Card; several nieces and nephews. John proudly served in the US Army during WWII. He retired after 35 years of service at the Binghamton Psych Center where he received a psychiatric aide award from the National Association of Mental Health. John was a member of the Chenango Bridge United Methodist Church, enjoyed several years of camping with family and playing cards with friends. The family would like to thank the staff of Good Shepard Fairview for their loving care. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at 5:30 p.m. at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Roger Frederick officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
