Marie Gentile Ross, 91, of Endwell, passed away suddenly on February 2, 2019. Marie was predeceased by her parents Lucy and Anthony Gentile, brother John Gentile, sister-in-law, Lillian Gentile and grandson Matthew Ross. Marie is survived by her husband of 54 years, Kenneth (Skip) Ross, her daughter Cheryl (Tom) Savoldy, sons Scott (Patricia) Ross and Terry Ross. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Tom, Erin, Michelle and Morgan Savoldy, Zachary, Benjamin, Christopher and Abigail Ross. Also surviving are her sisters Shirley (Don) Fisher and Grace Gentile as well as several nieces and nephews. Marie graduated from Johnson City High School and worked in the chemistry lab at NYSEG until her first child was born. Marie and Ken raised their children in Port Dickinson and four years ago moved to Good Shepherd Village of Endwell, where they made many wonderful friends. Marie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, a wonderful cook and baker especially known for her spaghetti sauce, meatballs and pies. Marie loved to travel. The family took annual summer vacations and when Ken retired, they traveled extensively and especially enjoyed cruising. Marie was a life long member of Sarah Jane Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 8, 2019, 11am at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-7pm.
