Robert L. Pier, 79, of Kirkwood passed away peacefully on June 7, 2015. He was predeceased by his parents, Floyd and Mae Pier; son, Stephen Pier; brothers, Eugene and Jack; sisters, Beverly and Evelyn; dog, Duke. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Pier; daughter, Michelle and Stephen Knapp; stepchildren, Brenda and Harold Marshall, William and Karen Marshall; grandchildren, Justin, Stephanie, Elizabeth, Shawn, Max, Emily; good friends, Joe and Brenda Alise; several nieces and nephews. Robert proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was a lifetime member of the VFW in Kirkwood and retired after 30 years of service to IBM, Endicott. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 11 from 5-8pm at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson, NY. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 12 at the funeral home at 10AM. A burial with full military honors will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Harpursville, NY.
