Santina migrated to the USA In 1971 with her family from Roccamontepiano, Italy.
She was predeceased by her grandson, Mario D. Masciarelli.
Santina is survived by her loving husband of 66 years Emilio;
Son, Aldo Tomassetti Sr; Daughters, Adele Krolewski, Rosalinda O’Neill, Mirella Masciarelli-Walsh (Terry); Her amazing and loving Grandchildren, Aldo Jr, Jessica, Joshua, Stephanie, Jacob, Jennifer,
4 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild. 5 loving sisters and many nieces and nephews.
Santina was like the Mayor of her North Side neighborhood, always making sure everyone was okay and always keeping an eye out for her neighbors and helping how ever she could throughout the years.
Santina loved to cook for everyone and you could not enter her home without being convinced to eat, regardless of if you were hungry or not.
Santina was not happy until she filled your dish at least 3 times and anyone that had the pleasure of knowing her knows you could not refuse.
Santina was an avid gardner and in the summertime her home looked like the botanical gardens and everyone raved about the abundance and variety of flowers…"look but don’t touch" was her motto even tho we would all occasionlly snip a few.
Santina and Emilio took great pride in their garden where they grew every vegetable imaginable for over 35 years. Yes, we also snuck the veggies when mom wasn’t looking.
Santina had one of the most loving hearts as one could possess, always caring for others in their time of need. She always wanted to help in any way possible; for those of her that were blessed enough to be a part of her life received that love and kindness. She loved to go shopping and out for lunch with her family and friends whenever she could. Santina had so much love for life and her family and she will be greatly missed by everyone. There was not a person she met who’s life she did not touch.
The family would like to express our sincerest thanks to the staff at “Willow Point Nursing Home” for the care and love they gave to our mother during these difficult times. For the love and care they gave her when we could not be with her it made our hearts a little lighter.
